Entry Bell: 8:25 am
Period 1: 8:25-9:25 am
Period 2: 9:25-10:05 am
First Nutrition Break: 10:05-10:45 am
Period 3: 10:45-11:35 am
Period 4: 11:35-12:25 pm
Second Nutrition Break: 12:25-1:15 pm
Period 5: 1:15-2:15 pm
Period 6: 2:15-2:55 pm
Dismissal: 2:55 pm (Kindergarten 2:45)
End of day supervision ends at 3:10 pm

Note: Breakfast Club is open to all students - served Mon. to Fri. from 8:00 to 8:20 am in the school's west hallway by the library - volunteers always needed - see Volunteer Info

8:25 am - Purple and Orange Room students should meet in the North Kindergarten pen. Yellow, Red, Blue and Green Room students should meet in the West Kindergarten pen. All Gr. 1 to Gr. 6 students should meet on the blacktop in your designated area. Gr. 1 and 2 enter through Door #10 and Gr. 3 to 6 enter through Door #8.

2:45 pm - Yellow, Red, Blue and Green Rooms are dismissed from the West Kindergarten pen. Purple Room is dismissed from their classroom - Door #18 and Orange Room is dismissed from the North Kindergarten pen.

2:55 pm - Gr. 1 and 2 students are dismissed from Door #10 and Gr. 3 to 6 students are dismissed through Door #8.

Note: Students taking the bus and students in the YMCA or other aftercare programs are dismissed as instructed to parents/guardians.

Mohawk Gardens Public School is a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school in southeast Burlington, Ontario and we are excited to be celebrating our 50th Anniversary in October 2018. Our school colours are blue and orange and our mascot is a mustang.

Summer Notes

Our school's office will reopen on Monday, August 20th. Our new principal is Mrs. Martino and our head secretary is Ms. Short.

Class lists (by Student OEN) will be posted on Friday, August 31st at 3:00 pm on the school office doors and on this website.

We are welcoming several new staff members to our team this year - see Staff Info.

School starts on Tuesday, September 4th at 8:25 am for all students except Junior Kindergarten students who will start at 10:45 am on Sept. 4th. Visit our School Council Welcome Table on the first day!

  • Summer Spirit Project "Wander near or wander far, be Mustang proud wherever you are!" This summer, please get a picture of yourself in your school spirit wear or school colours. We will have a Summer Spirit Project Board in September where we can share adventures that we have all had over the summer! Whether it’s at a cottage, camp, the park, ice cream store, road trip, plane ride, or at home - take a photo in your spirit wear or orange/blue and bring it to Mohawk Gardens in September.   • Staff Goodbyes It's been a wonderful five years with Mrs. Kennedy as our team leader! Thanks to Ms. Payne-Maheu for arranging the thumbprint tree painting of all the students and staff as a parting gift for Mrs. Kennedy! We wish her all the best at her new school, Abbey Lane P.S.Happy Retirement Mrs. Ormesher!!!   • Legacy Bricks for Sale This past Spring we installed a new Outdoor Learning Garden behind the school near the south blacktop thanks to grants and funds raised by the community. The garden will be completed with a brick pathway and we now selling those bricks for anyone in the community who would like to purchase an engraved 4 x 8 brick for $50. See the form for more details about purchasing a brick through School Cash Online and thank you for supporting our wonderful school! Join us at our reunion event on Saturday, October 20th from 12 to 4 pm which will include a special dedication ceremony to garden sections in memory of Amanda Huxley and Matthew Raunig.   • Neighbourhood Play Group Thanks to Carlene, a parent volunteer at our school for offering to become a Neighbourhood Play Champion and coordinate active outdoor play dates for our students and other children in the neighbourhood.   • School Council Thanks We have enjoyed another wonderful year at Mohawk Gardens Public School and, with your amazing support, we were able to raise over $24,000!!! These funds generated from our Popcorn and Cookie Days, LunchBox program, Terra Cotta Cookie fundraiser, Dance-a-thon, Fun Fair and other special events have helped build our Outdoor Learning Garden and purchase literacy resources, music resources and outdoor learning resources for our students. Nutrition Program Appreciation

Mohawk Gardens offers a daily breakfast program and a weekly snack program thanks to grants provided by Halton Food for Thought, Healthy Kids Community Challenge Burlington and President's Choice Children's Charity. We also receive regular food donations from St. Elizabeth's Anglican Church. We are also grateful for the volunteer support we receive from Cargill Canada, RBC and the Rotary Club of Burlington. Special thanks to IKEA Canada for visiting our breakfast program with a donation of reusable food bags and for donating several sets of plates, bowls and cutlery for our nutrition program.
