October 20, 2018: Blue and orange decorations greeted hundreds of guests who visited our school on Saturday, October 20th from 12 to 4 pm for our school's 50th anniversary celebration. We are thrilled that so many people enjoyed touring the school, the memorabilia and decade displays, family fun zone, photo booth and of course, the cake! We would like to thank all of the volunteers and those who donated/loaned us items for our displays. Special thanks to Mrs. Haagsma and the choir for performing outside at 2 pm (before the rain!) and we also appreciated the presentations by our MC (and former student) Rylie Scott, HDSB Ward 5 Trustee Amy Collard, Mayor Rick Golding and MPP Jane McKenna and the greetings sent from MP Karina Gould. The reunion committee presented our new Principal, Martha Martino with a new white horse mascot and the key to the school to begin the next decade! Attendees greatly enjoyed the Get Your Own Taters food truck, Napoli Pizza, Nothing Bundt Cakes (who donated a portion of their sales) and complimentary coffee and hot chocolate from Tim's Horton's (5353 Lakeshore Rd.). We would also like to thank Phil Pritchard for donating a hockey basket won by the Avon family and Andy Franjic for bringing his white Ford Mustang for some special photos. It was a day full of Mustang pride!

Mohawk Gardens 50th Anniversary
Gift of Giving Back
Mohawk Gardens Public School partnered with Robert Bateman High School who were selected to host the Gift of Giving Back drive in November. We asked reunion attendees to offer their support by bringing a non-perishable food item or a small monetary donation for this worthwhile cause to our 50th anniversary celebration on Sat. Oct. 20th from 12 to 4 pm or to the school's office until Nov. 6th. The school donated 1,522 lbs of food!

October 15, 2018: Thanks to special guests, HDSB Associate Director David Boag, HDSB Ward 5 Trustee Amy Collard, and past MGPS Principal Andrew Kaiser who attended our reunion launch assembly on Monday, October 15th, 2018. Special thanks to Mrs. Haagsma and the choir and all the classes who gave presentations and thanks to Mr. Batista for taking an aerial MG 50 photo of our Mohawk Gardens students outside.
