Our Halloween Glow-in-the-Dark Dance-a-thon is NEW this year as we usually hold our dance on or near Valentine's Day. Bright orange/yellow dance-a-thon pledge forms have been sent home with students and forms are due back by Oct. 29th. There are new fundraising incentives this year (Halloween prize packages) which will be distributed on October 30th! To donate through School Cash Online, select Make A Donation.

Proceeds raised from this dance-a-thon will help purchase school team jerseys for sporting events and tournaments.

Our 400 students will be dancing for 30 minutes each starting with the first classes right at 8:30 am and ending right before dismissal. Students will receive a glow bracelet when they enter the gym and a freezie when they leave the gym. Kids look great when they wear white or bright neon colours under the black lights - it's a really cool effect! Unfortunately, there is no available time on Oct. 31st for a hallway costume parade and/or assembly this year and it is also not safe and possibly too warm to dance in most costumes (e.g. capes, flowing garments, onesies, etc.) in the dark warm gym.

We have a parent volunteer DJ and a team of amazing volunteers working hard to make this a super fun event for our students. If you would like to volunteer that day and dance to some "monster mash", please contact

UPDATE: We wanted to share the wonderful news with you! Unofficially, the Halloween Dance-a-thon has raised $4,000!!!
Special thanks to DJ Daddy Darren and our amazing volunteers who made this a huge success!
Halloween prize packages for students who donated $20 or more were sent home on Oct. 30th and 31st.
Miss Raspopov's 3-2 class returned the most forms (90%) so they will be winning a class party/treat TBD.
Mrs. Shepherd's KF-3 Green Room raised the largest amount (over $500!) so they will be winning a class party/treat TBD.
BIG thanks to our top 11 fundraisers (raised over $75 each) who were entered to win a $25 Indigo gift card - Congrats to Colby in the Purple Room!
Thanks so much Mohawk Gardens community for all of your support!
