MGPS Awards Assembly 2019
On our final day of school, we held a special awards assembly for our Grade 6 graduating students (and a few others).

Mr. Highley presented the Mrs. Rust Creativity Award to Sarah W.
Miss Goodish presented the Fred Young Technology Award to Mia B. and Gracie M. (in Gr. 3)
Mr. McKerracher presented the Carl Hamilton Award to the entire school for putting on the MG Spring Spectacular performance and it was accepted by the 4 lead actors: Nicole B., Dane G., Alex L. and William C.
Mr. Contreras presented the Patricia Hodgeson Athletic Award to Jacob B. and Kenisha G.
Mrs. Martino presented the Principal's Award to Peyton L. for being a model for students inside and outside our school.
Mr. Highley presented the Matthew Raunig Citizenship Award for outstanding kindness and best attitude to Alex L.
Mme. Hladun presented the French Award to Damien L.
Mrs. Kisko and Mr. Highley presented the Outstanding Achievement Award to Dane G.
Mrs. Martino shared congratulations to our Student of Excellence, Nicole B. for exemplifying leadership, kindness, collaboration, well-being and high academics over all of her years at Mohawk Gardens.
Mrs. Fabris presented the Environmental Award to the Green Room, the Kindergarten class of Mrs. Shepherd and Mrs. Lynds, for being environmental role models for our school.
Mrs. Whelpdale presented the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO) Award to the most improved student, Keith M.
Miss Goodish presented the Glyn Longden Award for Science and Social Studies to Zane A. and shared that her uncle Mr. Longden was said "to have a brain the size of a planet" and wore his science lab coat around the school sharing his passion for science and social studies.
Miss Goodish presented the John Langford Award for Drama and Dance to Quinn D. who really shined while participating in the International Dance Day.
Mr. Highley presented the Math Award to Oliver for his love of math and problem-solving.
Mrs. Kisko presented the Literacy Award to Samuel for showing a love of reading, writing, speaking and presenting.
Mrs. Fabris and Karis Huxley presented the Amanda Huxley Award for Kindness to Milo M.
Mrs. Kisko presented the English Language Learner Award to Katerina.

Mrs. Martino congratulated all of the Grade 6 students, thanked them for their years at Mohawk Gardens and wished them well in the future. She reminded them that they will always have the Mustang spirit in their hearts!
